PSNH residential energy customers slower to leave the mother ship

20 Jul

As required by the PUC, on July 17, PSNH filed its 2nd quarter report (attached) regarding the migration of its customers to the competitive market. The report shows that the number of residential customers not billed for PSNH’s energy service inched up from 3198 in April to 4332 in May, then jumped to 5746 in June. Overall, this represents a 2nd quarter increase from .76% to 1.35% of the total residential kwH not billed for PSNH’s energy service.

Small and large business customers have migrated in much greater numbers, from 36% to 96%. Residential customers who remain with PSNH’s energy service will bear an increasingly heavy burden as commercial customers continue to migrate.
