Sale of National Grid gains support; hearings next week

New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission staff and other parties to settlement talks are recommending approval of National Grid’s proposed $285 million sale of its electric and natural gas businesses to Canadian-based Algonquin Power/Liberty Utilities.

The PUC will hold hearings next Monday, Thursday and Friday, April 16, 19 and 20, beginning at 9 a.m. each day at the PUC offices, 21 S. Fruit St., Concord.

The sale would affect 126,000 New Hampshire electric and natural gas customers.
