Governor Lynch recently nominated Michael Harrington and Robert Scott to fill vacancies on the state Public Utilities Commission (“PUC”). The governor also nominated Amy Ignatius, a sitting PUC commissioner, as the PUC’s chairperson. The governor’s nominations are subject to approval by the five-member Executive Council.
As part of the nomination process we support a searching, robust analysis of these individuals’ qualifications. But today we focus more generally on some important policy questions about the PUC’s membership and the nomination process.
